Overview

The aim of Teaching Practice is to provide students with the opportunity to apply theory to the practice of teaching. The students perform teaching at kindergartens, schools, and special needs institutions. Through this course, the students gain opportunity to observe experienced teachers (in educational institutions) and benefit from their experience in preparing and teaching lessons. Teaching practice is an essential pillar in teacher preparation and is an integrated part that complements theoretical study. Teaching practice is the real criterion for judging the success of the teacher preparation program, through which theory and practice are linked, where student teachers possesses the necessary practical competencies associated with various methods of teaching and assessment.

Intended learning outcomes

By the end of the course, the students should be able to:

1. Enumerate the components of an individual educational plan

2. Learn how to prepare a group teaching plan

3. Determine methods and strategies for teaching courses

4. Demonstrate how to apply classroom management skills

5. Demonstrates the quality of teaching aids that take into account the characteristics of special categories

6. Learn how to distribute the teaching plan over the available time period

7. Explain the steps to carry out systematic observation for people with special needs

8. Analyse the content of an individual educational plan

9. Explain the success factors of a collective teaching plan

10. Discover the importance of his participation, partially or completely, in teaching courses

11. Relate educational concepts with the practicality of classroom management

12. Suggest teaching aids that take into account different category characteristics

13. Realise the importance of distributing a teaching plan over the available time period

14. Evaluate ability to engage in classroom observation of special groups

15. Prepare an individual teaching plan

16. Applies a collective teaching plan

17. Partially or fully participate in teaching courses

18. Designs a behaviour modification program

19. Produce teaching aids that take into account the characteristics of particular categories

20. Communicate with people with special needs using sign language and Braille language.

21. Carry out observation procedure of people with special needs and take relevant notes
